Survey of Charity IT

Charity IT Attitude Survey

Background

The 2009 Survey of Charity IT Attitude was conducted by Sigmer Technologies in July and invited responses from over 5,000 UK charities of all sizes and working in all sectors - ranging from religious organisations though to medical research. The short online survey focussed on how charities manage their IT provision and included topics such as the methods used by charities to obtain strategic guidance and how well was the IT Strategy aligned with the needs of the organisation.

The Method

The on-line survey was conducted using Sigmer Technologies Survey Suite On-line Survey System which is hosted in the UK and which provided a robust and confidential on-line questionnaire, collection and reporting facility.

The Result

The survey was completed successfully and the final report may be found by clicking on the link below.
The headlines are that charities will use many methods to obtain impartial advice from consultancy through to asking other charities for help. Smaller charities regard IT as less important to their business and their business continuity and disaster recovery planning is generally less well-advanced than larger charities.
